Our coverage of the maritime market is one of the most comprehensive in the market, and includes Newbuilding, Sale and Purchase, and Chartering activities in all the major shipping segments: Tanker, Dry Bulk, Chemical, LNG, LPG, Offshore, Liner and Yachting. Service is provided to clients through 14 broking offices in Paris, Monaco, Geneva, London, Hamburg, Athens, Madrid, Oslo, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, Mumbai and Dubai. About Shipbroking (For those who are not familiar with shipping) Shipbroking is a financial service, which forms part of the global shipping industry. Shipbrokers are specialist intermediaries/negotiators (i.e. brokers) between shipowners and charterers who use ships to transport cargo, or between buyers and sellers of vessels. Department Overview Drawing on the wide expertise of our brokers and the power of the BRS Group global resource network, the Research and Information (RIS) department provides market intelligence and analysis as a value added service to our clients. BRS Group clients requests for information and analysis are fulfilled promptly with privacy and confidentiality, according to each client’s unique demands. The RIS department monitors 36,000 vessels and tracks over 8 billion tonnes of commodities. Responsibility: 1.You and your team will be collecting; analyzing and presenting a consistent view of the short to long term outlook for dry bulk commodities (include iron ore, coal, nickel ore and grain) 2.Updating daily/weekly reports on shipping and commodities, mainly in English, also sometimes in Chinese 3.Developing and maintaining necessary databases (port inventories, number of vessel waiting at anchorage, bunker prices etc.) 4.Monitoring and assessing the impact of macro developments, news reports and changes in regulations 5.Providing assistance and support to research colleagues in Paris/other offices 6.With the help of brokers and research colleagues, providing tailored-made request research services upon requests from brokers and clients. |
